Volunteering Program at Our Farm
Join us in creating a sustainable future! Our farm offers a hands-on opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to sustainable living practices. As a volunteer, you'll be an integral part of our farm community, working side-by-side with us in a variety of activities.
Work Schedule and Expectations
Hours: Expect to work 5-7 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Flexibility: The exact work schedule can be discussed upon arrival, and we allow for flexibility based on weather conditions, energy levels, and project needs.
Breaks: We value rest and encourage long mornings with frequent breaks throughout the day.
Accommodation
Camping: Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tent and camping gear.
Alternative Accommodation: There is a small earth house and a caravan available for sleeping, subject to availability (they may be rented through Airbnb). In case these accommodations are booked, you’ll be asked to return to your tent.
Shared Costs: Occasionally, volunteers are expected to contribute towards food costs, approximately 10 EUR per day, particularly when we buy supplies from the store.
Contract and Duration
A basic agreement will be signed before your stay to ensure clarity on both sides.
Volunteers can stay for as long as they wish, but the expected stay duration and details must be discussed before arrival.
Activities You’ll Be Involved In
Depending on the season and ongoing projects, there are various tasks you can participate in, ranging from hands-on construction to gardening. You’ll have the opportunity to choose what interests you most, with a focus on sustainable living. Some activities include:
Natural Building: Work on our earthship house, learn cob making, sandbag laying, and more.
Gardening & Farming: Planting, mulching, harvesting, watering, and landscaping.
Animal Care: Feeding and caring for our animals.
Woodwork: Cutting, shaving, and preparing wood for various construction projects.
Cooking & Cleaning: Participate in meal preparation and maintain a clean environment.
Mushroom Foraging: Explore the woods and learn about wild edible mushrooms.
Other Tasks: Mowing, plastering, painting, and general maintenance around the farm.
What You’ll Learn
Sustainable Living: Gain practical skills in homesteading, permaculture, and eco-friendly construction.
Hands-on Experience: Work directly with natural building materials and sustainable farming methods.
